The Abbeyfield Loughborough Society

ABBEYFIELD LOUGHBOROUGH SOCIETY is part of the main Abbeyfield Society throughout the country which is a Charity.
The Abbeyfield Loughborough Society was formed in 1963. After the building of John Storer House a group of seven members of the John Storer House team met with Major Carr-Gomm, the founder of the Abbeyfield Society who explained what Abbeyfield was all about and the Loughborough Society was formed.

Since then the Loughborough Society has seen many changes until it is as it is today.
There are four Houses, three of them are Very Sheltered and one is a Residential Home.

The Society is run by the ten members of the Board of Trustees, who are all Volunteers. Volunteers and Staff work together to make the Society the welcoming, well run, efficient and caring organisation that it is today.

Abbeyfield believes in providing suitable accommodation for very elderly people - giving them a choice in how they live - treating them with dignity and confidentiality - and surrounding them with love and support.

Other pages in this Web Site will tell you about the four Houses, what sort of care you can expect, the fees involved and the role of Staff and Volunteers.

You are welcome to our Web Site and will be even more welcome to visit any of the Houses as you may wish. See other pages for details.
